your ‘bbg’ team

  • Dustin, Co-owner

Co-Owner of Boss Battle Games, Dustin dreamed of opening an arcade since middle school. Inspired by all-you-can-play lockins at Great Times in Beech Grove, Indiana. BBG started as a business plan in a notebook (which, you can find on display in the arcade!). Dustin enjoys fighting games, such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, but finds enjoyment in all the games he tries. His recommendation for new arcade visitors is F-Zero AX and any fighting game. Dustin is also the arcade technician - he maintains all the machines on the floor, in addition to service calls.

  • Phylicia, Co-owner

Co-owner of Boss Battle Games, Phylicia is a self proclaimed "nerd". Her love of video games started with Oregon Trail, evolved to Pokemon in the late 90's, and has ultimately landed with older arcade games, such as Lunar Lander. She enjoys making costumes, cosplaying, and doodling cute things. She designs all art, photos, websites, shirts, and social media associated with Boss Battle Games. Phylicia also does arcade art design and repair, bringing back marquees, side art, and control panels that have been lost to time. Her current favorite machine at the arcade is the Venom pinball!

  • Patrick, Arcade Manager

Arcade manager ‘Pat’ was one of our first customers at our first humble location back in 2015! Entering our first Dungeon Crawl, he’s been stuck with us ever since. Pat regularly visits our FGC casuals and plays Street Fighter 3rd Strike during his free time. You’ll find him at the front desk chatting away with guests and suggesting new games to try. His recommendation, and favorite, is 3rd Strike, so ask him for tips or challenge him when you stop by!

  • Adrian, Arcade Tech

We’re thrilled to welcome Adrian to our Boss Battle team as our new Arcade Tech! With a wealth of experience in arcades and a passion for video game collecting, Adrian brings a unique expertise and contagious enthusiasm to our crew. During his free time, he plays D&D, World of Warcraft, and Street Fighter. His favorite game at the store right now is Toobin’ but he also loves any and all Candy Cabs.

  • Sean, Arcade Attendant

Boss Battle Games is thrilled to have Sean on our team! This professional nerd has experience working in game shops and brings his knowledge to the arcade, helping the buy/sell/trade portion of the store. Lured to the arcade by the 6-player X-Men machine, Sean also enjoys our rhythm game collection. When you’re in the shop, feel free to ask him about his mobile game collection!

  • Brian, BBG Bestie

Brian is the homie of BBG! He first came to Boss Battle to play our DDR machine and never left! He is known for his role in INDYDDR over many, many years and brings that knowledge to help us tune in our rhythm game choices. Brian’s favorite dance game is Pump It Up (even though it’s bonked him on the head too many times). We’re very blessed to have Brian as a volunteer, friend, and mentor!

  • Ame, Warehouse Supervisor

    Ame, Arcade dog

Making a cameo in several other profiles - Ame has stepped up as the official role of ‘Arcade Dog’ after the passing of his big sister, Lakota. Ame has never met a stranger in his life, and loves greeting anyone at the arcade, warehouse, or anywhere in between. He’s a fantastic supervisor requiring all to take mandatory breaks for treats and belly rubs. He often makes trips to Lowes to pick up repair parts, and of course, free treats!

  • Yuki, Arcade Dog in Training

Miyuki, AKA Yuki, is the newest addition to Boss Battle Games as the arcade dog in training and pesky assistant to Ame. An absolute joy and complete menace wrapped up in a chaotic package, she’s a delight. When she’s not playing in mud, or chewing up everything in her path, she is in Ame’s shadow learning how to be the best arcade dog around.

in memoriam

  • Lakota Kasa

Lakota Kasa was the original arcade dog at Boss Battle Games. She played a major support role during the building of the arcade and was always our #1 cheerleader going forward through the years. She used her training as a hospice emotional support dog to bring comfort and smiles to people of all ages at the arcade. She would often visit players during tournaments to remind them to smile and relax. We were often told by guests that they came for the arcade and stayed for the dog. Lakota did an amazing job training her brother, Ame, so he may follow in her footsteps. We miss Lakota dearly but know her presence will always live on at the arcade.
Thanks for 12 years of unconditional love, loyalty, and friendship.

  • Julie "razz" rasimovicz

Julie Razz, mother to Phylicia, passed away peacefully in 2012. She didn't live long enough to see BBG become a reality, but she was always supportive of our endeavors and we know she would be here every day. Julie LOVED pinball - She spent so much money on the Adams Family table located in Columbus, IN years and years ago. Julie was well known for her loud voice, enthusiasm, and love of dogs. Although she didn't "get" the Pokemon craze, she spent many hours watching the Pokemon movies and shows in support.
Thanks Mom, for everything you did. You're thought of every day and we wish you could be here to see us now!

  • Mike "Dad" Chappel

Mike Chappel, the father of Phylicia, lost his battle with cancer in October of 2016. He was the biggest supporter of BBG and would do everything he could to advertise and share the arcade - He ALWAYS had a fist full of business cards he would leave everywhere he went. Mike loved playing Pokemon Go and Frogger. His favorite Pokemon was Rattata because "it's cute"! Mike was a Vietnam Veteran and spent his retirement gardening and painting along side his favorite cat, Izzy. We miss him every day and wish he was still here to celebrate every BBG success.
Thank you, Dad, for taking me to Comic Cave in the early 90's so I could learn to play Pokemon. Thank you for taking me to Chuck E Cheese and showing me how to play Frogger and take my losses in stride. Thank you for spending sick days with me, watching me play the original Sims on our PC. Thanks for always supporting my passions.

  • Benson

Benson is our angel, friend. and team member. We faced the unimaginable loss of our wonderful friend 12/3/20 after many years together. Benson could always be found on Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and was the best Super Smash Brothers player in the state. We had the opportunity to watch him grow from a teenager into a very charismatic adult. He was promised for years that he would have a job at BBG and we absolutely kept that promise. Benson was well known and loved in the gaming community with a passion for competitive play. His spirit will always live on at Boss Battle Games and we will never forget him.
    We love you Benny!
